Book Tall Trees Eco Retreat in Apollo Bay

Tall Trees Eco Retreat offers two- and three-bedroom cottages. Each includes a private bathroom with spa bath, walk-in shower, and sauna. The kitchen is fully equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, washing machine, and basics like salt, pepper, and oil. Rooms have a balcony with garden views, a hot tub, and a fireplace. The three-bedroom house has one bathroom; upstairs rooms can get warm in summer (no air-conditioning). Guests note the beds are comfortable.

There is no on-site restaurant. Each cottage has a barbecue and outdoor furniture. The kitchen includes sharp knives, a Nespresso machine (from facts?), and essentials for cooking. Guests can buy food in Apollo Bay, 20 minutes away. Bird seed is provided for feeding king parrots and rosellas from the balcony.

The property has a sauna and a hot tub. Guests can follow a marked trail to 'Glow Worm Alley' at night to see glow worms. Fireplace, board games, colouring pencils, and old vinyl records are in the cottages. Hiking options include the Bowerbird Track and a 6 km morning walk up the hill (leeches possible). No TV, no WiFi, and limited phone signal - a digital detox.

Tall Trees is 100 km from Avalon Airport and about 20 minutes' drive from Apollo Bay town. It is set deep in the Otway Ranges forest, surrounded by eucalyptus and tree ferns. The narrow gravel road (tight for 4WD) leads to complete privacy. The Great Ocean Road and surf beaches are within 30 minutes. Hiking trails to waterfalls and hidden beaches are nearby.

Free private parking is on site. Hosts Vic and Dave live on the property and can help with local tips; they once gave a lift to the marathon bus stop. CCTV, fire extinguishers, and smoke alarms are installed. Check-in and check-out procedures are detailed in the manual. No room service or business facilities. The property is non-smoking throughout.
