Self-Contained Apartments
The Town Apartments offer one and two-bedroom self-contained units. Each apartment includes a flat-screen TV, kitchenette with oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator, stovetop, and kettle. Bedrooms feature two double beds (or one double and one twin in some configurations) with soft mattresses and pillows. Air conditioning is installed in each room. Towels and linen are provided.
Dining
Each apartment has a kitchenette for preparing meals. The location in Chinatown places guests within a short walk to restaurants serving Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Korean, and Indonesian cuisine. A Chinese grocer nearby sells fresh fruit. The apartments do not have an on-site restaurant.
Location
The apartments are on Tattersall Lane in Melbourne's Chinatown. Regent Theatre is 400 metres away, St Paul's Cathedral 600 metres, Princess Theatre 600 metres, and Federation Square 700 metres. Tram stops are around the corner for travel across the CBD. Tullamarine Airport is 19 km by road. The lane lacks a street sign; look for 'The Boiling Crab' restaurant to find the entrance.
Safety and Security
Access uses a key card for the front door and lift, plus a pin code for the apartment door. CCTV cameras monitor common areas and the exterior. Fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are fitted. Guests report feeling secure.
Amenities
Check-in uses a lockbox with a code for late arrivals. Express check-in/out is available. Staff can be reached by phone and respond quickly. Earplugs are provided to reduce noise from a nearby nightclub (Section 8 pub). The building has a lift. Free WiFi, a washing machine in the unit, and laundry facilities are available.
